Ancient Coddiwomplers

Posted by Cathryn Mahoney on

The definition of coddiwomple is “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination".

We class ourselves as Ancient Coddiwomplers, as on all our travels we only have vague direction and destination in mind and have no idea what we will see, hear and experience once there, if at all, the initial destination is reachable or in fact still exists.

Ancient because we are guided by ancient beings of light and ancient inhabitants of the land. In addition on many of our excursions we end up feeling ancient, but in all seriousness we channel into our own ancient wisdom and knowledge, as with many places we visit, there is a familiarity, resurfacing memories and a deep knowing of location and the purpose of our visit once there. We also find rocks, watercourses and other natural resources just by tuning into the surroundings and sensing ourselves there at a previous time. Many locations have been important meeting places with other tribes and ancient ones.
